Clean and green event in Fordingbridge
The Green Gram Community Refill Shop is helping people in Fordingbridge to become ‘clean and green’ with a free event.

People living in the Fordingbridge area have the chance to learn about environmental issues at a talk being delivered in March.
The Green Gram Community Refill Shop’s latest event is a talk on sustainability. Entitled ‘Being Clean and Green’, the talk will be held at Avonway Community Centre in Fordingbridge on 4 March at 7.30pm.
The talk is by The Green Gram’s Outreach Co-Ordinator Wendy Reid and is free to attend. Attendees will learn about the history of cleaning and the rise of commercially made cleaning products that often have hazardous materials in their makeup.
Reid said: “In this session, I’m planning on explaining how the development of cleaning products has evolved over the years, and I will highlight some of the chemicals used in many household cleaners and personal care products. These can have a dramatic and detrimental impact on our health and the environment. We will also look at safer alternatives and will look at how easy it is to make home-made cleaning products.”
Numbers for the event are limited so The Green Gram requests that attendees book a ticket in advance by visiting https://www.ticketsource.co.uk/fordingbridge-greener-living or emailing fordingbridgegreenerliving@gmail.com.
Since originally opening in May 2022, The Green Gram has been offering refills of foods, cleaning products and toiletries. Its customers have prevented over 1,723kg of plastic waste, equivalent to nearly 77,808 containers.
