The embankments have been created as park of works to protect six open spaces and parks in Poole against unauthorised encampments. Soil embankments are considered an effective method of preventing unauthorised vehicles on open spaces while still leaving them accessible for pedestrians.
Members of the local community helped to sow grass and meadow flower seeds on the embankments, which will help them to blend in to the natural landscape of the park.
Cllr Sandra Moore, ward member for Canford Heath East, Borough of Poole, said: “We know that our residents feel strongly about protecting Verity Park from unauthorised encampments, and we have worked hard to push the new protective measures through.
“It was fantastic to see so many members of the local community at the park, thanks go to them for all their efforts in helping with the seeding of the embankments.”
