Daddy Love: Photographer captures unique bond between father and baby

Father’s Day is a great opportunity to celebrate the special bond between father and child, and this collection of images by Karen Wiltshire of KW Photography does exactly that. Released ahead of Father’s Day on 21 June, Karen’s portraits show a number of doting dads – mostly first time parents – carefully cradling their newborn child.

Karen, a local specialist in newborn portraiture, said: “Usually parents bring their new baby to be photographed and don’t expect me to ask for them to step in front of the camera as well, or are reluctant to do so. But as these images testify, some of the most heart-warming photographs – and some of my favourite ever shots – are ones involving dads with their newborn babies.”

These portraits were all taken recently at her photography studio in Poole, Dorset. The babies are aged just days old and are carefully held by the proud new fathers, whose expressions and body language capture their sheer joy of having recently become a father.
