Dental staff catch 'tooth ferry' to cycle around the Isle of Wight for Cancer Research
Staff at Southfield Dental Practice in Ringwood will be taking the ferry to the Isle of Wight before cycling to raise money for Cancer Research UK on 16 September.
The group of work colleagues from the dental practice in Ringwood wanted to set themselves a team challenge and they decided to make it a tough one by choosing to cycle the hilly route around the Isle of Wight, some 68 miles up and down, to raise money for Cancer Research UK.
Dentist Chris Gollings said, “Cancer has struck the families of a few of the dental staff, both young and old, and we have all felt their loss. We feel helpless for the individuals, but are united in trying to raise some money for the research to help others.”
Cyclists Caroline, Chris, Leianne, Leigh, Lilli and Julie are trying to raise money for the research to help others and they won’t be fighting tooth and nail to compete against each other. “There’s no winners,” says Chris, “It’s one for one and all for all!”
Southfield Dental Practice has set up a JustGiving page with nearly £1,000 raised so far.
