Dorset Chamber reacts to Prime Minister’s resignation
The chief executive criticised Keir Starmer’s tenure at Number 10 and said the business community wouldn’t be disappointed.
Dorset Chamber has added its voice to those expressing an opinion about the resignation of the Prime Minister on Monday 22 June.
Chief executive Ian Girling said: “Many in the business community will not be disappointed, or surprised, to see Keir Starmer go.
“The imposition of additional taxes and regulation on employers during his time in office has been incredibly damaging, and now businesses face even more uncertainty with his resignation.
“It is critical that there is an orderly handover of power that provides stability and minimises any economic disruption over the coming weeks and months.
“Although much is to emerge, clearly the new Labour leader and Prime Minister must adopt more business-friendly policies to drive the growth that UK PLC so desperately requires.”
