Easter hunts with a difference at Chesil Beach and Kimmeridge
A host of family-friendly wildlife events and activities are on offer at Dorset Wildlife Trust visitor centres over the Easter holidays, one being an Easter egg case hunt.
Events from Dorset Wildlife Trust over Easter range from a family pond dipping day on Brownsea Island and a birdwatching walk at Lorton Meadows to marine-themed Easter egg case hunts.
There will also be the opportunity to explore the amazing underwater world of the Fleet lagoon on a Seashore Safari.
The Easter egg case hunts will take place on Monday 18 April at Chesil Beach and on Friday 15 April at Kimmeridge – children will be searching for shark and ray egg cases on the beach with a chocolatey reward for their discoveries.
At Kimmeridge, there will also be a rockpool ramble on Tuesday 19 April and eco-friendly crabbing will take place on Wednesday 20 April in which young people can learn how to catch and care for crabs without harming any other animals in the process.
The family pond dipping days on Brownsea are on Sunday 17 April, Wednesday 20 April and Sunday 24 April whilst you can join the wardens to open the moth traps and learn about nocturnal wildlife on Wednesday 13 April and Monday 18 April at the marvellous moths on Brownsea sessions.
The visitor centres at Chesil Beach, Kimmeridge, Brownsea and Kingcombe are all now open to the public with lots of opportunities to explore these special places and discover the wildlife that live there.
