A special event at Moors Valley Country Park and Forest, near Ringwood, offered families the chance to discover some amazing facts about the fantastic fungi growing in the forest during the wet and mild autumn months.
With approximately 12,000 species in the UK, there is a lot to learn about the amazing diversity of fungi that thrive in the woodland, grassland and heathland areas.
The Forestry Commission has produced a Fungi Collectors Code to promote responsible foraging in the forest, which can be found at www.forestry.gov.uk
