This has been made possible by investment from the Premier League, which has been delivered by the Football Stadia Improvement Fund (FSIF)
The investment has allowed Step 5 club Hamworthy United FC, who play in Sydenhams Wessex Premier League, to double the size of their existing clubhouse and add a large kitchen. This will enable the club to cater for functions and enhance match day facilities for both players and supporters at The County Ground.
As part of the extension, a number of key facility improvement have been made to the clubhouse. These include the refurbishment of the ladies toilets, installation of new turnstiles, resurfacing and repair works to the car park and the addition of changing facilities for female officials.
Steve Harvey, Chairman of Hamworthy United FC, said, “Without the funding provided by the Football Stadia Improvement Fund, the Premier League and Stan & Betty Wallis we wouldn’t have been able to provide this new facility. Hopefully, this will help us achieve our aspirations of promotion to Step 4 football.”
Peter McCormick OBE, Chairman of the Football Stadia Improvement Fund, said, “I’m delighted for everyone associated at Hamworthy United FC that this project has now been completed. The extended clubhouse will not only be enjoyed by players and officials at the club, but also spectators and visiting supporters from across the country. My thanks go to Harry Redknapp and Darrell Clarke for officially unveiling the project.”
