Local bikers deliver shopping to young Dorset carers
To have your food shopping delivered by motorcycle riders is pretty cool.
Bike Shed, who volunteered to support local communities during the coronavirus pandemic, have been delivering groceries to 20 young carers and their families.
Dorset Council supports children and young people aged between five and 18 who provide regular care and emotional support to a family member who is ill or disabled.
Members of the motorcycle riding group teamed up with young carers’ charity MYTime to support local children, young people and their families.
Vikki van Someren, co-founder of the Bike Shed Motorcycle Club, said, “Times have been particularly challenging for the young carer community. It’s been a privilege for our volunteer riders to work alongside MYTime in helping to provide support to these incredible young people and their families.”
