Lost Boys and girls reunited fast through the LV= KidZone scheme

The LV= KidZone beach safety scheme has had another successful year. Over the summer, it helped keep children and vulnerable beach visitors safe along the BCP coastline, reuniting 59 people with their loved ones.

The scheme, delivered by BCP Council in partnership with LV= and supported by RNLI lifeguards, operated between 1 July and 31 August.

Over the course of the summer, over 15,000 free wristbands were issued across BCP beaches. Parents, guardians and carers write a contact number and location details on the wristband, helping staff to quickly reunite anyone who becomes separated.

This year, 59 young people were successfully reunited, averaging around one per day, with their loved ones through the scheme, with an average reunion time of just 13 minutes. That brings the number of reunions to over 3,500 across the life of the scheme since 2007.
