Man charged following collision in Sturminster Marshall
Police are appealing for witnesses following a collision between an unmarked police vehicle and a white BMW on 29 September.
Following a collision which involved an unmarked police vehicle and a white BMW in Sturminster Marshall on Monday 29 September, the driver of the BMW, a 35-year-old man, was arrested and has subsequently been charged with dangerous driving.
He will appear at Poole Magistrates Court on 16 October.
Dorset Police received the report at 9.29pm of the incident on the A31 between Stag Gate and the Roundhouse Roundabout.
Emergency services attended and road closures were put in place to allow them to deal with the incident.
A police officer was treated by the ambulance service and taken to hospital for treatment to injuries that were not described as life-threatening or life-changing and he has since been released from hospital.
There were no reports of any injuries to the occupant of the other vehicle involved. Enquires into the collision are ongoing.
Police Sergeant Mike Burt, of the Serious Collision Investigation Team, said: “We are carrying out enquiries into the collision and I would urge any witnesses who have not already spoken to police to please make contact.
“I would also like to hear from anyone who was travelling in the area at the time and may have captured relevant dashcam footage.
“Finally, I would like to thank members of the public for their patience and understanding while the road closures were in place.”
