A Bournemouth man has appeared in court charged with the murder of Hayley Wall.
Christopher Wall, 58, pleaded not guilty to the offence when he appeared before a judge at Winchester Crown Court on Friday 6 January.
Wall was initially charged with grievous bodily harm with intent after 25-year-old Hayley suffered serious head injuries following an alleged assault on 13 December 2016.
She was found outside Charminster Supermarket in Charminster Road.
The incident was subsequently linked to an alleged assault at an address in nearby Shelbourne Road and it is believed that Hayley had made her way from that address to the supermarket where calls were made to emergency services.
However, in the early hours of Thursday 22 December, Hayley died in hospital from her injuries.
A murder investigation was launched by detectives from Dorset Police’s Major Crime Investigation Team.
Christopher Wall will next appear before Winchester Crown Court on a date yet to be set.
On Friday 23 December 2016 detectives issued a CCTV image of a man who was using crutches and is believed to have been in Shelbourne Road as Hayley made her way toward Charminster Road.
This witness has now come forward.
