Miss Dorset, 21-year-old Romy Simpkins will be competing in the Miss England finals on 13 and 14 August at the Ricoh Arena, Coventry.
The Miss England competition is the only contest in the country to send its winner to Miss World, which this year is being held in Sanya China in December – the prize is a $100k.
Romy won a public vote for this year’s Miss Dorset competition and received her title via-photoshoot at the Miss Dorset final on 28 June.
She is passionate about using her platform to inspire others to become more ethically mindful; challenging any preconceived notions about pageant competitors and pro-actively helping the local community.
She is also passionate about modelling and raising money for charities such as Barbados, Stronbones, Age UK and is invited to raise funds for the Miss England/ Miss World charity; Beauty With a Purpose. www.beautywithapurpose.com.
Shot by local photographer David Freeman at The Green House Eco Hotel in Grove Road, Bournemouth, modelling WeDoReDo’s resort collection 2016, and Soda Beauty’s natural hair and animal cruelty-free make-up artistry; Romy wants to inspire others to live an ethical lifestyle whilst studying sales and working at a health and leisure centre in Bournemouth.
She spent nearly a year in Australia working in an animal shelter and fell in love with her adopted her cat, Link; who is now living with her in the UK. She also regularly goes out and purchases toiletries, blankets and food for homeless people and their pets, as she believes that everyone deserves a second chance to get back on track.
Romy is very proud to be representing her county at the Miss England final, in the hope of following her dreams of representing her country in Miss World.
