New Wimborne mural officially unveiled
The mural by Kizzi B Creative was officially opened by the Mayor of Wimborne, Cllr Jeff Hart, at a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

Members of Wimborne Town Council and Wimborne BID, local residents, and students from Beaucroft College attended the official unveiling of Wimborne’s latest mural on Tuesday 24 June.
The underpass at Allenview Car Park which runs under Hanham Road received a makeover courtesy of local artist Kizzi B Creative, working alongside 12 students from nearby Beaucroft College. The new mural was organised and funded by Wimborne BID (Business Improvement District).
The underpass was last decorated in 2014 and this had come to the end of its natural life. The new mural is designed to be calming and welcoming as visitors pass from Wimborne’s largest car park and enter the town. The makeover has also been timed ahead of Wimborne becoming Dorset Town of Culture at the beginning of 2026.
After an announcement by the Town Crier, Cllr Chris Brown, and a speech by the Mayor of Wimborne, Cllr Jeff Hart, the mayor then cut the ribbon officially opening the underpass mural.
Cllr Hart said: “Our thanks to Beaucroft College who’ve really done an amazing job here with the students. We’re really pleased about that collaboration.
“The finished job looks really beautiful and calms you down, which was the intention. [Thanks also to] the BID who funded this.”
Kizzi B Creative and Laura Byford from Beaucroft College, who had organised the students’ participation, were gifted with flowers as thanks for their hard work.

Kizzi said: “I’m pleased with all the students’ hard work.
“The hardest part was the organisation of where the students would do their own designs, because I had to fit that in. Once that was done, it was really just about colouring it in and making it bright.
Kizzi also revealed the inspiration behind the mural: “Because it was a community project, I was trying to do something with community and nature, and I thought of bees and beehives. So the hexagons represent the students’ own piece of art and each bee is a student being creative and working hard to complete it.”
Laura Byford, visual arts leader at Beaucroft College, said: “We’re over the moon with it. It’s been a one-off, unique, inspiring opportunity. We’re hopeful that we can make further connections with other organisations and would love to work with Kizzi again.”
Wimborne BID manager Tammy Sleet said the BID was very happy with how the mural had turned out. She said: “It’s so colourful and bright. It’s the main throughway from the biggest carpark in town to the town centre, so it’s really nice that people can feel happy and safe walking through there.
“It’s my absolute joy when I walk through and see people admiring it.
