Verwood Carnival goes from strength to strength

Cllr Mrs Sandra Grove the outgoing mayor of Verwood and her consort Clive Grove were guests of the Verwood Probus Club at a black tie dinner dance celebrating 25 years since the club was formed in 1991.
Councillor Mrs Susan Shaw is Verwood’s new mayor elect and her deputy is Councillor Mrs Lindsey Dedden.
Emmanuel Middle School hosted the final of The Great Verwood Bake Off on 6 May. Heat winners from Years 4 and 5 from Emmanuel and Hillside, Trinity and Verwood First schools came together to bake and decorate their cupcakes for judging by the Mayor of Verwood, Cllr Sandra Grove, and the headteachers of the participating schools.
Gareth Malone OBE, choirmaster and broadcaster recently took some time off to visit at Moors Valley Country Park and Forest with his family. Gareth, an ex-pupil of Bournemouth Grammar School, took to the trees on Go Ape, the park’s award-winning tree-top adventure experience as well as hiring bikes to get away from the crowds and explore some of the 800-acre forest site.
