An authority on the history of golf equipment is delivering a free talk at Parley Golf Centre.
Dr Donald Holmes will speak about the sport from the late 19th century to the present day on Thursday, February 4, at 7pm and will have memorabilia to show.
Dr Holmes said: “I’ve been collecting golf memorabilia for 50 years and I’ll be bringing some along including gutty balls and old clubs including some anti-shank ones and putters. The talk will be a fun one and people are more than welcome to ask me questions.”
Daryl Dampney, manager of Parley Golf Centre, said: “All golfers love a gadget that they think will improve their game and it will be fascinating to hear about the history of golfing equipment. Dr Holmes is a respected authority on the subject and it is a real privilege to have him here.”
The talk will last for about an hour and there will be a question and answer session afterwards.
