Pedestrian seriously injured in Merley road collision
Police are keen to speak to anyone who saw what happened or who has dashcam footage of the collision which took place on Friday 19 December.
A local man on his 70s was seriously injured in a collision with a silver Volkswagen Polo on Sopwith Crescent, at the junction with Oakley Straight in Merley on Friday 19 December.
Following the report of the collision received by Dorset Police at 10.28am, emergency services attended and the pedestrian was taken to hospital for treatment to injuries that were believed to be life changing.
Road closures were put in place as emergency services dealt with the incident and were lifted at around 1.30pm.
Police Constable Calum Maton, of the Roads Policing Team, said: “We are investigating the full circumstances surrounding this collision and I am keen to hear from anyone who witnessed what happened or who may have captured relevant dashcam footage.
“I would also like to thank members of the public for their patience and understanding during the road closures.”
