When it comes to helping the homeless, Ringwood School knows how to step up to the mark. For the last 10 years they have been running a sixth form-led initiative to collect food and personal care items to pass on to those less fortunate at Christmas. This year students and staff collected an incredible 3,671 food tins and personal care items for onward transmission.
Items were donated to the school and at the main collection point in the town at Grants Estate Agents in Ringwood. On 13 December the items were collected together and will be distributed to the main soup kitchen in Bournemouth run by the Salvation Army, a number of mobile homeless vans and a hostel in Portsmouth and a women’s refuge and homeless shelter in East London.
