Rotary donates benches to celebrate Her Late Majesty the Queen
The Royal Bournemouth Hospital charity has received two benches and two lime trees from the Rotary Club of Boscombe and Southbourne.
The land beside the lake at the Royal Bournemouth Hospital has been enhanced by the addition of two new benches and two new lime trees.
Members of the Rotary Club of Boscombe and Southbourne donated the benches and trees to the hospital charity to commemorate the Platinum Jubilee of Her Late Majesty the Queen.
The benches are made from 100 per cent recycled plastic and are maintenance free.
David Shires, Rotary Club president, said: “We are proud to have presented to University Hospitals Dorset with these benches and trees to commemorate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. The club has been proud to have helped the hospital on many other occasions.”
Janine Golding, community fundraiser for the charity, said: “The benches, trees and plaque are situated by the lakeside area of the hospital which is a tranquil place for patients, staff and visitors to enjoy and to keep alive the memory of the Queen’s 70 years of service to the country.
“The rotary have been wonderful supporters of the charity over the years and we’d like to thank rotarian Bill Jones, chairman of Community, and Martin Lovell, our estates manager, for their invaluable help.”
