“Having a hearing loss is nothing to be embarrassed or ashamed about and when you are able to openly discuss your hearing loss it can be a very liberating experience,” said Rula Lenska at the recent Bournemouth Hearing Show.
“Rula’s frank and warming story of how she came to terms with her hearing loss impressed the many visitors to the show,” said Heather Cowell of Clarity Hearing Solutions.”Her inspirational talk emphasised the importance of ‘destigmatising’ hearing loss and changing people’s attitudes to encourage acceptance of the condition in the same way that we do with poor eyesight.” Heather added, “We have received many comments from visitors to the hearing show expressing how refreshing it was to hear a glamorous celebrity being happy to admit having hearing difficulties and being pleased to share her experiences with them.”
