Santas and sponsors sought for Wimborne fun run
The annual Wimborne Santa Stour River Fun Run takes place on Sunday 15 December starting from Wimborne Town Football Club.
Wimborne Rotary, organisers of Wimborne’s Santa Stour River Fun Run are hoping to attract more participants and business sponsors for the event which takes place on Sunday 15 December.
Raising funds for Julia’s House children’s hospice and other Rotary supported charities, it starts at 10am from Wimborne Town Football Club in Ainsley Road, BH21 2FU, where free parking is available.
Entrants will be able to choose from either a 2.5K or 5K course.
Entry is £10 for adults and £5 for under-18s. Entrants should pre-book by registering at www.wimbornerotary.org/giving. There will also be limited places for those who turn up on the day.
Participants can choose to receive a free Santa suit, or a festive hat, and a free mince pie and drink will be available at the finish.
Whether entering as an individual, a family, or as a team, runners are also encouraged to fundraise for their own favourite charities by seeking their own sponsorship.
Organiser of the run, Rotarian Neil Hutchinson, said: “Once again we will welcome all runners to this fun charity event. We have secured a local sponsor for the run but are still looking for any other local businesses which would like to become involved through sponsorship or by helping on the day.”
