SEDCAT (South East Dorset Community Accessible Transport) the non-profit organisation that provides wheelchair users and people with mobility issues the chance to get out shopping in the area, is to fundraise between 11am and 3pm on Saturday 4 June.
Visiting shoppers will be encouraged to create a mile long coin donation at Castlepoint as SEDCAT needs to replace one of their special easy access minibuses. SEDCAT manager Sue Leighton said that they urgently need to raise £10,000 to cover the cost of replacing one of their buses to provide extra services.
“We will also be holding a sponsored Pier-to-Pier walk at 9.45 from, and to, Boscombe Pier on Sunday 26 June 2016. We are determined to get back to a full service as our buses help in tackling loneliness and social isolation for many of our disabled members who are limited by the choice and cost of transport,” said Sue Leighton.
