Southbourne Nativity Parade will set off from the bandstand at Fisherman’s Walk at 10am making its way along Southbourne Grove to Southbourne Green.
Youngsters can join the procession along its route dressed in nativity-themed costumes. There will be the added fun of keeping an eye out for 40 knitted Christmas trees distributed among the stores on the route.
The group will then gather on the green alongside the nativity scene where children will be able to pet a menagerie of animals including donkeys, llamas, sheep, goats, alpacas and poultry. Those taking part in the parade will finish the day’s festivities with a spot of carol singing and some refreshments to bring this charming traditional event to a close.
The parade is among a host of events and attractions which Bournemouth Coastal BID is supporting, with the aim of making Bournemouth’s coastal villages even more appealing to visitors and shoppers in the run up to Christmas.
Coastal BID Chairman Paul Clarke said, “This is such a well-loved event in Southbourne’s calendar of Christmas events, and many local families join in the fun year after year.”
