You would think an exhausting 150,000 metre Rowathon would be enough fundraising for a while, but not for Royal Marine Commando Richie Puttock. He is taking on yet another crazy challenge to raise funds for the John Thornton Young Achievers Foundation!
This time he is embarking on a gruelling 12 hour cycle which he will complete with colleague, Mark Williams. They will be attempting to ride 350 miles between them, cycling from 8am to 8pm, on Watt Bikes (static bikes), at Sainsbury’s in Ferndown on Saturday 16 August. This will be a huge physical challenge and Bodyshocker will be supporting them with crucial sports supplements and nutrition throughout their training and for the event.
They have chosen 350 miles in memory of Lt John Thornton RM and the fact that this year is the Royal Marines 350th Anniversary
Linda Thornton, secretary of JTYAF said, “Richie and Mark will need all the support they can get so please come along and cheer them on. Customers visiting the store between 11.30am and 1.30pm will find JTYAF volunteers at the checkout offering to pack their bags, so why not treat yourself and let them help.
“Richie and Mark hope to see you on the day but if you don’t get chance to call in why not visit their on-line fundraising page www.justgiving.com/jt350bikeridePPH 350 miles must be worth a pound or two!”
