Well-known community spirited, Verwood man, Roy Slade, died on 18 October just six weeks before his 91st birthday and after a short illness.
Verwood Town Council has said goodbye to long-standing town clerk, Mrs Val Bright, who has retired after more than 30 years’ service to the town.
A variety of events are planned for June 2022 including a village fair, concerts, a church service and a teddy bear’s picnic.
Despite 49 letters of objection received by the town council, Lidl, has been granted permission to build a new supermarket on land in Verwood.
