Wessex Water has been told to improve after it was responsible for 215 pollution incidents in 2024 – 89 more than the previous year.

Litter Free Dorset, Dorset Council, Weymouth Harbour, and Wessex Water have joined together in a campaign to protect water quality.

Grants of up to £1,500 will be available for projects in Dorset which have a positive impact on the local environment.

Thanks to a partnership between Wessex Water and the Dorset Community Foundation, the funding has been divided between 22 groups.

Community projects, which have been hardest hit by Covid-19 in its first year, are to be supported by the new Wessex Water Foundation.
