A special service was held in Wimborne Minster in the morning and a full peal of bells rung in the afternoon.
With Sunday 7 February marking The Queen’s accession to the throne, special prayers will be said in Wimborne Minster church.
As well as a service in Wimborne Minster, there will be an act of Remembrance in Bournemouth and a Zoom event.
Radio Wimborne’s popular event Son et Lumiere returned to Wimborne on Saturday after an absence of two years.
Jonathan Hiscock has been recognised for being a member of the Wimborne Minster Choir for an incredible 60 years.
There was a warm welcome from the crowd for the switching on of the town’s lights, despite the chilly temperatures.
The Saint John Singers from St John the Baptist Church in Windlesham, Surrey were in the Minster church last Sunday.
Over £3,000 was raised at the weekend for the Minster Makes Music Appeal, Minster Funds and for the participating charities.
Events taking place on Saturday 18 September include a climbing wall and a Teddy Bear Zip Dip – so bring your teddy.
