The family of a 9-year-old girl who is in a critical condition after an alleged fail to stop road traffic collision in Poole have issued a statement to the media.
The incident, in which a cyclist collided with a pedestrian, occurred at 2.25pm on Friday 26 July along Pinecliff Road by the entrance to Branksome Beach.
The pedestrian, 9-year-old Leila Crofts, suffered serious injuries and remains in a critical condition at Southampton General Hospital.
Leila’s parents, Chanine and Darren, wish to ask that everyone’s thoughts and prayers are with Leila as the next 48 hours are a critical period in her recovery. They would also like to request that their privacy is respected at this difficult time as they support their daughter and each other.
A 38-year-old Bournemouth man was arrested in connection with this incident after presenting himself at a police station and has been released on bail pending further enquiries.
