Chloe Simpson and Erin Atyeo-Baker have been chosen as Verwood’s carnival princesses.
Chloe is 10 and goes to Emmanuel Middle school; she is a big fan of ballroom dancing. Erin is 13 and attends Cranborne Middle. She is a keen horse rider.
The format for the carnival procession will be different in 2013 due to dwindling support over several years when few, if any floats have taken part. In an attempt to increase interest, the committee has decided to shorten the route and change it to a walking only event with the princesses leading the way. It will begin at Verwood Recreation Ground at 1pm and proceed to the carnival field. Local people are encouraged to start organising their fancy dress walking entry. Prizes will be given for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place.
