Visual poem expresses how it feels to be black in Britain
Spoken word artist Paul Gialo has teamed up with Adam Savva to produce a short, powerful visual poem about being black in Britain today.
Ripples is every bit as powerful as 100 demonstrations with 1,000 placards, encapsulating the black British experience in four-and-a-half minutes. Paul draws on his own personal experiences with racism.
Director Adam Savva said, “The Black Lives Matter movement has, quite justifiably, generated a great deal of heat and anger over recent months. And yet, sometimes those who shout loudest are least heard. In fact, some might say that how a message is delivered is as important as the message itself.”
