Volunteers needed at Verwood Community Garden

Aiming to turn an uninteresting patch of grass into a productive and attractive garden area, one that benefits visitors and provides volunteering opportunities for the local community, Verwood Community Garden is after some help.

Since starting up in April 2026, the group has dug out four new vegetable beds and created an herbaceous and a wildflower border. They have a small but dedicated group of volunteers who worked hard through the hot summer to produce some brilliant results.

Verwood Town Council recently awarded the team a grant, and they are now ready to branch out and develop the garden. They would love some new volunteers to bring their gardening skills and ideas. Meetings take place on a Wednesday morning on a ‘come if you can’ principle and volunteers work together on whatever needs doing the garden.

They always finish with a cuppa in the café and new faces are always welcome, email verwoodcommunitygarden@gmail.com or find them on Facebook.
