Visitors to Wimborne Art Club’s summer show at Church House enjoyed an exhibition of 194 pictures alongside competition entries.
With 55 members in the club, there was a wide variety of styles and media used.
The preview evening was well supported by members with the Mayor and Mayoress also attending present.
There were a large number of entries for two competitions. The subject ‘Mist’ was judged by Clive Hannay. 1st Jacqueline Wedgery, 2nd Peter Chapman and 3rd Liz Burrows. The portrait competition was judged by Annabel Valentine. 1st Bernie Lusher, 2nd Scilla Stuart-Paul and 3rd Jim Champion.
There were a high number of visitors over two weeks who voted for their favourite picture. The winner was Bernie Lusher for his oil painting ‘Aileen’.
The club’s next show, at the village hall in Pamphill, is from 18-20 November. In addition to paintings there will be craft and cards for sale.
