Burglar linked to eight crimes in Bournemouth is jailed
Peter Levy admitted three offences and asked for a further five offences to be taken into consideration.
A prolific burglar appeared at Bournemouth Crown Court on Thursday 18 June where he was jailed for three years and four months.
Peter Levy, 53, of no fixed abode, admitted three burglary offences and asked for a further five offences to be taken into consideration when sentenced.
The first offence he was charged with related to an incident where the occupant of a home in Clarendon Road woke on the morning of Thursday 12 February 2026 to find the defendant in the premises. Levy fled the scene upon being disturbed.
The following morning, a resident in Egerton Road discovered entry had been gained to their home and items had been stolen including cash and keys.
Early on the morning of Sunday 15 February 2026 ,the occupants of a home in Soberton Road were at home when they were alerted by their doorbell camera to activity at their front door.
The defendant was seen at the door trying to gain entry before the victims approached and he made off.
Following CCTV enquiries by officers from Dorset Police’s Neighbourhood Crime Team, Levy was arrested and subsequently charged with two burglaries and an offence of attempted burglary.
When sentenced at court, he also made admissions to a further five burglary and theft offences committed in Bournemouth between Sunday 15 February and Monday 23 February 2026, which were taken into consideration when he was sentenced.
Detective Constable Jo Regan, of the Neighbourhood Crime Team, said: “We recognise the impact burglary offences have on victims, particularly in these cases where the victims were at home at the time of the crimes.
“We remain committed to thoroughly investigating all burglary offences reported to us and as this case demonstrates we will explore all lines of enquiry available to identify offenders and bring them to justice.”
