Primark Halloween gonks recalled
Shoppers at Primark’s Dorset stores need to be aware of a product recall involving two popular gonks.
The retailer has issued a product safety recall that covers two items. The HV Pumpkin Plush Gonk (Kimball no. 3933401) and HW Mini Gonk (Kimball no. 3260901) due to the possible presence of Asbestos-contaminated sand in the items.
The items were sold at Primark stores in the UK, including Bournemouth, Boscombe, Poole and Weymouth, between July and August 2026.
The company states the products may be dangerous as: “We’ve learned the products do not meet our usual high safety standards. Testing has shown the sand material inside some products may contain trace levels of asbestos, and this may present a risk if inhaled.”
If you have these products, or see them at friends’ or family events, put them in a sealable bag and return them to Primark for a full refund, no receipt required.
