Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance plans to move to a new operations base in Yeovil ahead of adding a second helicopter.

The Air Ambulances UK Awards of Excellence took place on 3 December with two members of DSAA winning awards.

Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance will invest £30 million into a second helicopter and a modernised base to enhance its life-saving service.

Mike Langley aims to become the oldest person to hike the entire coastline of Great Britain, a total of 7,300 miles, and raise money for charity.

The event organised by Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance had been scheduled for 27 September at Baiter Park.

Christchurch Priory, Bridport Clock Tower, Corfe Castle, Glastonbury Tor, Weymouth Pavilion and Wookey Hole which will all be illuminated.

Participants can spread out a variety of activities over the month of October, starting from anywhere that suits them.

To raise funds for Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance, the Seaside Scramble is taking place at Baiter Park, Poole.

Hundreds of cyclists took part in the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance’s annual Coast to Coast Cycle Challenge to celebrate its 25th year.

Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance, which was founded in the year 2000, is hoping local people will help with fundraising.
