Poole Park and Upton Country Park have achieved Green Flag status plus Green Heritage Site Accreditation.
The site, which is under the garden of Max Gate in Dorchester, could be one of the earliest identified archaeological sites in the county town.
The ‘Earl of Abergavenny’ was a cargo ship that sank off the coast of Weymouth in 1805. The shipwreck has now been given government protection.

The museum in Poole closes on 31 December and will re-open after major redevelopment at the end of December 2024.
