A 25-year-old man from Poole has been jailed after admitting seven charges of rape.

A Dorset police officer who raped and sexually assaulted a friend, subjecting her to violent and demeaning behaviour, has been jailed.

Police Constable Ravi Canhye will appear in court on Friday 3 February charged with eight sexual offences.

Detectives from the Major Crime Investigation Team are appealing for witnesses who they know were in the area to get in touch.

The incident took place in Poole Road on Saturday 25 June and detectives would like to speak to any witnesses.

Following reports of a rape of a teenage girl on Bournemouth beach in July 2021, a man has been arrested.

There was an overall reduction in crime last year, although sexual crimes have increased in the county in line with the rest of the country.

A Weymouth man has been jailed for more than 20 years for a series of sexual offences dating back around 30 years.
