Over the next couple of weeks, several roads across the conurbation will be closed to allow asphalt preservation works to take place.

A £5m programme of works will deal with the huge increase in potholes, road defects and emergency call-outs.

Work, which has already started in Westover Road and Old Christchurch Road, will continue into early summer.
