Are you looking for voluntary work? Would you like to help your local community? Cherry Tree Nursery needs you.
Cherry Tree Nursery needs more ‘Friends’ to help cover the shop and retail area in their busy, friendly plant nursery. Volunteers are needed, especially on Saturdays or Sundays, for up to ten weeks in a year.
Cherry Tree Nursery is a project of the Sheltered Work Opportunities Project, a local registered charity in its 26th year, which provides support and meaningful occupation for adults with severe and enduring mental health problems by using the therapeutic nature of horticulture.
Open to the public and trade customers, the shop and retail area in the nursery play a crucial role in funding and sustaining the project. The charity relies very much upon the goodwill of their ‘Friends’, who work on a voluntary basis, especially at weekends. All applications are welcome but a background in retail skills including till operation would be especially helpful.
Cherry Tree asks that ‘Friends’ can commit up to 10 Saturday or Sundays over the course of a year and in return offer a rewarding role and sense of belonging to a very special community.
