What do you think of Bournemouth’s latest art installation?

Visitors to West Cliff often spend time enjoying the scenic views across the coast. Now, they can share those views with a new piece of art, currently fenced off ahead of an official unveiling.

Called Lean Into the Wind, the installation suggests the prow of a ship, with fine detail including birds and kites, capped by a female bust facing west. It represents the latest feature of BCP Council’s UK government-funded Coastal Public Art & Heritage Trail.

Inspired by the coastline, the geometric design takes ideas taken from local school and community groups. What do you think of the design and location?
