Wimborne green groups take a stand
Planet Wimborne, together with other community green groups, welcomed people to their stands during the Wimborne Minster Folk Festival.
People attending the recent Wimborne Minster Folk Festival showed they have an interest in green issues.
Planet Wimborne, together with other community green groups, including Wimborne War on Waste (WWoW), Win on Waste, Wilding Wimborne and the Minster Environment Group, had stands over both days and they received numerous visits.
This was Planet Wimborne’s first chance to talk to the public about all things environmental, and folk came along for a good chat, particularly about what they could recycle and get fixed.
A spokesperson for Planet Wimborne, Linda Bunting, said: “It was great to be able to tell people about Planet Wimborne and what we offer. We also got to show what we can all do ourselves to help save money and the planet. We learnt a lot and will be back bigger and better for the Green Festival in October. Planet Wimborne is also keen to work with local festivals to support them on their journey to becoming more sustainable.”
