Purbeck Marathon results

Nearly 250 runners defied the rain and strong south-westerly winds to run the Second Purbeck Marathon. Bournemouth’s Steven Way defended his title although the winds slowed him to a time of 3.06. The first woman home was Rhiannon Shepherd of Southampton Athletic Club in a time of 3.42. 231 runners started the gruelling event with 223 finishing the race. The final finisher arrived in 6.50, well within the race time limit.
