The museum in Poole closes on 31 December and will re-open after major redevelopment at the end of December 2024.

Dorset Community Foundation’s Surviving Winter appeal has seen applications soar by four-and-a half-times compared to the same period in 2021.

Led by Dorset HealthCare there is a 24/7 telephone helpline, a drop-in service and face-to-face support for over 18s this festive season.

Guided walks take place every Tuesday at Avon Heath Country Park, and are led by knowledgeable and friendly volunteers.
