The Boscombe 2016 Postcard competition winners have been announced.
Boscombe Regeneration ran a photographic competition in the summer offering the chance to win having a photo of Boscombe turned into a limited edition postcard.
It was judged by Councillor Jane Kelly and staff from the Boscombe Regeneration office who were looking for images that celebrated all that Boscombe area has to offer.
Councillor Jane Kelly, Cabinet Member for Regeneration and Public Health said, “The response to the postcard competition has been absolutely amazing. The range and quality of the photos that were submitted was outstanding and we had a difficult time selecting the winning images. The photos entered demonstrated the real pride that people have in Boscombe.
“Boscombe has so much to offer, from its award winning gardens to its seafront and shopping precinct. We hope that the postcards will help to positively raise the profile of Boscombe and the good work and commitment that is taking place to improve the area.”
Winners were Barry Chignell, Paul Godier, Charlotte Horton, Kate Watson and John Wines who will each receive their own copies of the limited edition postcards. There are 1,000 of each of the six designs available free of charge from local venues including Boscombe Library, Urban Reef and Urban Beach.
Over 230 photos of Boscombe were submitted via a dedicated flickr page which can be viewed here: www.flickr.com/groups/boscombepostcard
