Car sought following teenager’s death in Poole
Three men have been arrested following the incident in which a teenager was found with injuries – from which he died – in Longfleet Road.
Following the death of a teenager in Poole – and arrests have been made – Dorset Police is keen to hear from members of the public who may have witnessed a dark-coloured Nissan Juke with damage to the front and a missing bumper travelling between Dale Close and Blandford between 1.30am and 2.33am on Friday 19 June.
Detectives have been granted additional time to question three suspects arrested in connection with the young man’s death.
Dorset Police received a report at 2.13am that a man had been located with injuries in Longfleet Road.
The victim – an 18-year-old Poole man – was taken into hospital for treatment for a suspected stab wound, where he was very sadly pronounced dead a short time later.
It is believed that the victim sustained injuries during an incident in Dale Close and was taken to Longfleet Road in a car.
Detectives have been granted additional time by the court to question a 20-year-old man from Blandford, a 22-year-old man from London and a 22-year-old man from Bletchley in Buckinghamshire, who were all arrested on suspicion of murder.
A 19-year-old man from Poole who was previously arrested on suspicion of murder has been released and will face no further police action.
Detective Superintendent Neil Third, of Dorset Police, said: “We are keeping the victim’s family updated on our progress and our thoughts are with them at this incredibly difficult time.
“Our investigation is progressing at pace, and we believe a Nissan Juke was involved in the incident. We are keen to piece together its movements during the night and are asking members of the public who may have been travelling between Dale Road and Blandford, or those living along the route, to review any dashcam footage or home CCTV for any sightings of a vehicle matching the description.
“Officers are also continuing to search a property in Castleman Smith Close in Blandford in connection to the incident.
“We do not underestimate the concern and upset that an incident of this nature will have in the community, and officers from the neighbourhood policing team are carrying out additional patrols in the area and can be approached with any questions or concerns.
“We still need help from the public and would reiterate our appeal for anyone with information – or relevant home CCTV, doorbell camera or dashcam footage – from Dale Close, Longfleet Road and the route to Blandford around the relevant time to please contact us.”
