Dorset students celebrate record A-Level results

A-Level results are being opened across Dorset as students see the fruits of two years of hard study.

As A-Level, BTEC and T-Level envelopes or web portal links were opened at 8AM this morning, the hearts of Dorset students mostly leapt with good news.

Nationally, results are at record highs, with 28.7% of students in England achieving an A or A* result. Across Dorset, schools are reporting stellar grades, as pupils look for careers across the county, or to move out to explore University life far and wide.

Typical of the picture across the county, students at The Arnewood School, New Milton celebrated an excellent set of A Level and BTEC results. Marking the culmination of two years of dedication, resilience and personal growth, a number achieved straight A* and A grades.

The Arnewood cohort achieved strongly across the full breadth of the curriculum. Top grades were secured in subjects including English Literature, English Language, Mathematics, German, Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Psychology, Photography and Art.

Vocational students performed equally impressively at the school, with Distinction* grades awarded in BTEC Sport and Creative Digital Media — a reflection of the sustained effort and professionalism these courses demand.

Whatever the results, pupils have many options and opportunities as advice floods in from colleges, employers and leaders with various experiences of the education system.
