Elated Swanage Railway volunteers are celebrating after their Diesel Gala and Dorset Beer Festival attracted more than 4,000 passengers across four days – an all-time record in the 11-year history of the popular annual event.

A man has been jailed for four years for killing his friend with one punch at a Dorset holiday park. Jason James, 41 and of Torquay, was sentenced at Winchester Crown Court today, Friday 8 April, after pleading guilty to manslaughter at the same court on 15 March 2016.
