Success for Poole Seaside Scramble
The event, which took place at Baiter Park on 9 May, was a fundraiser for Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance.
People of all ages ran, climbed and crawled at Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance’s Seaside Scramble held at Baiter Park in Poole on Saturday 9 May.
The fun-filled 5K, featuring air ambulance-themed obstacles, was full of fun, energy and laughter from start to finish.
Around one third of Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance’s missions take place across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole, making this a real local cause.
Alana Hardy, DSAA events officer, said: “This is a brand-new event for DSAA. We wanted to create something enjoyable and family-friendly, with the obstacles bringing an added sense of fun and challenge to the race.
“We chose to host it in an area where we regularly operate, in the hope that it would also raise awareness of our work locally, which made Poole an ideal choice.
“We hope it will become an annual event and grow bigger and better each year.
“35 volunteers and team members supported the event, and they have been amazing – we truly couldn’t hold it without them. Thank you to everyone who came along and made the day so special for all of us.”
The charity would like to thank everyone who took part, fundraised, cheered people on and helped make the event a success, as well as volunteers and the charity team who worked so hard behind the scenes to bring the event together. Special thanks also go to AFC Bournemouth, BH Live, Gladiator Events, DocBike Dorset, Hot Radio, Golden Gate Coffee and Dorset Pizza Kitchen for supporting the event.
