Wimborne Community Theatre will stage a new site-specific production on the Kingston Lacy estate in September.
A thriller that keeps you on the edge of your seat – and, in my case, on a couple of occasions, nearly jumping out of it – is clearly achieving what it sets out to do: to engage the audience in a couple of hours of escapism.
‘The Killing of Sister George’ may seem tame in this day and age, but in 1964 the play, written by Frank Marcus, was highly controversial. Followed by the film in 1968, directed by Robert Aldrich and starring Beryl Reid, it was the first mainstream depiction of a lesbian relationship and consequently received an X rating.
Instead of having to take cartons and foil to banks in car parks, residents can now put them in their home recycling bins.
Local theatre company ImpAct is to stage the Tom Kempinski play in April at theatres in Ferndown and Winton.
A new version of The Nativity involving cast members for whom English is a second, third or fourth language will be performed at Corpus Christi Parish Hall in Bournemouth in December.
The production by all male theatre company The Lord Chamberlain’s Men is to be staged at Durlston Country Park on 27 June.
There will be fairytales for both children and adults at this atmospheric fire-lit theatre on Saturday 10 July.
