There was a lot of energy in the town and a variety of activities for young people to enjoy as part of UPLIFT 2026.

Wimborne Minster is Dorset Town of Culture 2026 and held an official launch event on Wednesday 18 February.

Wimborne BID says the opinions of businesses will be the key to helping shape Wimborne’s Town of Culture 2026.

The award means that next year, the town will deliver a programme of extraordinary cultural and community events.

Four towns have made the shortlist to become Dorset’s Town of Culture in 2026: Ferndown, Sherborne, Swanage & Purbeck, and Wimborne.
